Tips for proper brushing

Here are some tips on how to brush your teeth properly:
• Always brush your teeth after every meal, using toothpaste containing fluoride.
• When brushing, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to avoid harming the gums.
• The stroke: hold your toothbrush at a slight angle against your teeth and use short back-and-forth motions.
• Brush the inside and chewing surfaces of your teeth especially at the back.
• Brush your teeth for at least two minutes each time you brush.
• Brush your tongue also, most bacteria are not on teeth but on the tongue,.
• Avoid excessive force when brushing which can irritate or bruise your gums.
• Replace your toothbrush every three or sooner if it becomes frayed. Frayed worn out brushes also harms the gums.
• If you have arthritis or other problems that make it difficult to brush well
• consider using an electric toothbrush.
