Below are some dental terminologies to help us understand our dentist when they use dental jargons:

Teeth are small whitish arrangements located in the mouth of many vertebrates which are normally used to tear, scrape, milk and chew food. Some carnivorous animals utilize their teeth to hunt or defend themselves from their known predators. Teeth are not composed of bones but instead are made of tissues with differing density and hardness. The roots of teeth are hidden by gums. The teeth of mammal species are their most readily discerned characteristics. Paleontologists identify fossilized species and their relationships through their teeth. Even in forensic medicine, teeth are used to positively identify charred or unrecognizable bodies of crime victims.
